Students Find Their Power with Rosie Riveters

As seen on Good Morning Washington

ALEXANDRIA, Va (7News) — This week’s Spotlight on Education shined a bright light on the transformative STEM work happening at Rosie Riveters Headquarters in Alexandria, where curiosity is celebrated, confidence is built, and students discover the power of their own potential.

The segment captured the energy inside the lab – students tinkering, testing, and troubleshooting with a level of joy that makes learning feel limitless.

Rosie Riveters’ Executive Director Brittany Greer spoke to that mission with unmistakable passion, sharing, “At Rosie, we work to engage and inspire kids in science, technology, engineering, and math by providing them with the opportunity to get things wrong before they get it right”. That message echoed throughout the program as students worked through hands on challenges designed to spark both technical understanding and personal confidence.

And for many of the students, the experience is already reshaping their future. Student participant Maddie Banz captured that feeling perfectly when she said, “”Through the program, I’ve learned about all these amazing STEM careers. It’s really uplifting, the whole process”.

Rosie Riveters is building a generation of students who are confident, capable, and ready to lead in fields where their voices are needed more than ever.
