Rosie Riveters brings hands-on STEM learning beyond the school day through Military Family Saturday Programs and Community Partnerships, supporting families and community organizations nationwide.
Military Family Saturday Programs
Now entering its sixth year, this initiative delivers free, high-quality STEM education to military-connected students and provides employment to military spouses as program facilitators. Each program serves 42 students per session and employs up to three spouses per location, creating both educational and economic opportunities in the same community.

Military families face unique challenges, including frequent relocations and disruptions to education and employment. These programs offer continuity: consistent STEM learning experiences for children and meaningful work for spouses, ensuring families feel supported and empowered wherever they go. We ensure military children have the tools to build confidence and the opportunities to thrive in STEM no matter where their journeys take them.
The results show in the numbers and in what families tell us. The programs have achieved re-engagement rates exceeding 60% in a highly transient community. As one parent shared: “Rosie Riveters is the program that makes her love science and really want to do it.”

Community Partnerships

Community Partnerships deliver ongoing, hands-on STEM programming through the organizations students and families already know and trust. We resource community organizations and out-of-school programs with ready-to-deliver STEM programming, working with partners including Military Family Services, Girl Scout Councils, Affordable Housing Associations, and other community-serving organizations.
Core projects stay the same while narratives, timelines, and delivery adapt to local goals: after-school programs, Girl Scout troop meetings, summer camps, and community spaces across the country. This makes the model both scalable and sustainable, bringing sustained STEM skill-building into existing community spaces.
Community Events
Sometimes the best way to spark STEM engagement is a single, high-energy experience. At community STEM nights, festivals, and community events, our team facilitates the hands-on projects that engage and inspire kids, often for the first time, while bringing awareness of the careers and pathways in their own communities. Events are tailored to the host and audience, from a single activity table to a full event’s worth of programming.
Core skills are the bedrock of everything we deliver; awareness and narrative are the pathways that connect those skills to application. Working with industry partners, we tailor event and kit narratives to spotlight the careers and employers in a community’s own backyard:
Rosie Explores Manufacturing. Developed with manufacturing partners to address a projected national shortfall of 2.4 million manufacturing workers by 2028 (U.S. Department of Commerce), Rosie Explores Manufacturing has delivered more than 10,260 hands-on STEM experiences to students across Alabama, Colorado, Ohio, Florida, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Virginia. Through guided kits that emphasize productive struggle, students are building the critical thinking, problem-solving, and STEM skills needed to pursue careers in manufacturing, helping to strengthen the future talent pipeline for this vital industry.
Making Music to Discover Careers in ProAV. Through our partnership with the ProAV industry, Rosie Riveters has brought the science of sound to life for over 7,000 students across six states, building harmonicas in a hands-on lesson on sound waves while discovering the careers behind audiovisual technology.
The same approach can spotlight any regional industry, from aerospace to energy to biotech, helping industry partners build their local talent pipeline while giving students visible, attainable pathways.
