Rosie Labs: Hands-On STEM During the School Day
Rosie Labs is a hands-on STEM education program that builds the critical thinking, problem-solving, and confidence children need to become the innovators of tomorrow. Rosie Labs supports elementary classroom teachers in providing hands-on STEM learning during the school day, at no cost to participants.
Removing the Barriers Teachers Face

Rosie Labs is designed to address the most common barriers to classroom STEM: time, materials, and teacher confidence. Each ready-to-use kit is aligned with state learning standards and requires no additional preparation from teachers. Kits arrive classroom-ready with all materials, step-by-step guides, instructional videos, and career profiles included.
Rosie Labs reaches elementary and middle school students through plug-and-play kits that bring STEM to life through real builds: biomechanical hands, LED art, Art Bots, harmonicas, and more. Each project introduces core concepts in mechanics, circuitry, materials science, AI literacy, and systems thinking.
Built Around Productive Struggle
Every activity is designed around productive struggle. Students test, fail, adapt, and succeed, building the persistence and confidence that transfer to any future pathway. This iterative approach strengthens problem-solving skills and builds the curiosity needed to navigate an evolving workforce.
Proven in Classrooms, Growing by Demand
Teachers consistently implement Rosie Labs projects as part of their classroom instruction, and demand continues to grow as educators seek to bring these experiences to additional students. Word of mouth across schools and districts has led to increased requests for expansion, with Rosie Riveters regularly invited to support school and district-level planning as well as teacher professional development.

“I LOVE the STEM activities Rosie Riveters provided our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students. To put it clearly, one of my fifth-grade students said, ‘We need more of these great STEM activities from Rosie Riveters. They are so cool!”
Marie Peaches, fifth-grade teacher at James K. Polk Elementary School and recipient of the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching
Nationally, Rosie Riveters has reached more than 60,000 participants with measurable results: 95% of students enjoyed participating, 89% were inspired to learn more about STEM, and 100% of parents would recommend our programs. Explore the full decade of results on our Impact page.
Beyond the Classroom
While Rosie Labs is designed for seamless in-school implementation, the same hands-on projects also reach students in after-school programs, summer learning environments, and community settings through our STEM Kits & Events program, which equips troop leaders and community staff to deliver them. This lets students engage with hands-on STEM across multiple settings, reinforcing concepts and building confidence beyond the classroom.
