Rosie Riveters Partners with AVIXA Women’s Council to Launch New Initiative Supporting Girls in STEM

Fairfax, VA – Rosie Riveters is excited to announce a new collaboration with the AVIXA Women’s Council: the Rosie Riveters Initiative, designed to inspire and support girls’ early engagement in STEM and expose them to career paths in the professional audiovisual (ProAV) industry.

Key Elements of the Initiative

  • The AVIXA Women’s Council has set out to support Rosie Riveters in creating access and awareness of STEM fields and the ProAV industry for young girls.
  • Original fundraising goal was $5,000, achieved early through a donation by Advisist, led by Bradford Benn.
  • Following that success, the goal was raised to $10,000, with additional sponsorship pledged by organizations including LAVNCH CODE, Peerless-AV, AtlasIED, QSC, and Mersive.

Why This Matters

  • Girls currently represent less than 20% of the ProAV industry. The Rosie Riveters Initiative seeks to shift that by introducing the industry as a possible future path as early as elementary school.
  • By combining hands-on STEM learning with exposure to the AV/ProAV field, the initiative is designed to build awareness, confidence, and a sense of possibility among young girls.

Call to Action

Rosie Riveters invites support from industry partners, community members, and donors to help realize the goals of this initiative. Donations are being accepted via the AVIXA Women’s Council’s GoFundMe page. Those interested in sponsoring or contributing should visit the initiative’s webpage at supportingawc.com.
